My charity would be about building worldclass hospitals in poor countries where people die from very treatable conditions like diarrhoea, just because the governments cannot spend money on decent hospitals! We’re very fortunate to have the NHS here in UK which provides free treatment to every citizen. But even many rich countries dont have such a system and so many people die from disease because they cannot afford doctor fees !

I know this isnt sciency but i think poverty and disease are the world’s main problems at the moment.

      Hi louisiana,

I like Usman’s idea. Another good one for me would be education in developing countries. There are many places where children can’t get a good education because they either lack the facilities or because they are simply malnourished!

There are some charities out there trying to kickstart education by providing free meals at schools. This means the children have a reason to go to school, and that they can learn properly because they aren’t hungry. It’s a simple idea, but I think it could have a huge effect. And a better education means these young people are more likely to grow up and be able to solve problems in their own community too.

So I think I’d start a charity to provide free meals in as many developing-country schools as possible!

So my charity is a bit unusual and based on personal experiences with my friends and family. It would be a charity to educate the public on what it means to be transgender. Lots of people (about 1% of the population) are transgender, it is where you are actually a gender different to the one the doctor gave you at birth. However lots of people are really horrible to transgender people and make lots of nasty jokes about it. I think that is because they don’t understand what it is about and can’t relate to it very well, so they think it is something to laugh about. I want people to be free, and I want transgender people to be free to be who they want to be without fear of getting laughed at, beaten up, or worse, because of it.
