• Question: How can you make electromagnets stronger?

      Well, you can make a magnet stronger by cooling it down. The colder you go, the stronger it gets.

      If by ‘electromagnet’ you mean a magnet caused by electricity rather than a normal metal megnet, then you can crank up the current (more amps). Don’t try this at home though (trust me).

      Hi Lucy,

      If you are talking about using electricity to produce a magnetic field then there are 3 main things you can do. 1. Increase the current through the magnet. 2. Increase the voltage and 3. you can increase the number of coils used to expose the magnet for longer to the electric field.

      It’s all about energy! The more you put in the more you get out.
