They all travel at the same speed, but they have different frequencies and wavelengths.. or in other words they get from A to B in the same time, but some wobble faster than others!

The speed of light (and all other electromag waves) is the fastest thing we know to exist, travelling at 300000000 metres per second.

A physicist who visited Exeter this year named Miles Padgett worked with a team who managed to slow light down by a few millionths of a meter per second by changing the shape of the wave. So, they all travel at the same speed but can be slowed by altering their shape.

Electromagnetic waves slow down when they go through different materials. For example, light travelling through glass goes more slowly than light travelling through air or through a vacuum, and the speed difference depends on the wavelength, which is why a prism splits white light into different colours, for example. The speed difference is usually only slight, and electromagnetic waves still travel very fast.
