I would guess approximately £500 per hour. While that’s a lot of money, big hospitals should typically be able to afford running costs. The cost of purchasing one is much more however, over a million£.

It’s also interesting to know that the magnetic ofPET MRI is a “superconductor”, which means it needs negligible electricity to run, and stays on all the time!
